United Nations: Amman is World's Displaced Person Capital

Amman is home to the largest proportion of refugees in the world, with one in every four residents being a displaced person, according to a UN report released last week.
In "State of the World Cities 2010/2011: Bridging the Urban Divide", UN Habitat, an agency for human settlements which aims to provide adequate shelter for everyone, said that Amman now hosts around half a million Iraqis emigrants and refugees in addition to some of the 1.9 million Palestinian refugees living in Jordan.

A Stunning Virtual Tour of the Holy Sepulchre

Easter is fast approaching and one of the most ideal places to celebrate it is in the Holy Land and with a pilgrimage to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Of course, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to make such a trip, but thanks to a Turkish multimedia company, they can now make a virtual visit from their own computer. Two websites have teamed up with Turkish photographer, Aykut Ince, to create a breathtaking, panoramic, virtual tour of the basilica. Using their mouse or cursor keys, visitors can view the basilica in detail and take similar virtual tours of the Western Wall and the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Holy Land: Tensions Continue After Rioting

Palestinian protestors on the streets of East Jerusalem, heeding calls by Hamas for a
Palestinian protesters and Israeli police have continued to clash in the West Bank despite the reopening of access to and from the area, Al Jazeera reported today. The Qatar-based broadcaster reported worsening clashes around the Qalandia checkpoint in the West Bank on Wednesday, although wire sources say the rest of the area is now relatively calm. Israeli authorities ordered the lifting of a ban on access to the territory on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Palestinian militants fired a rocket at Israel from the Gaza Strip on Thursday, killing a Thai farm worker.
